This was an exceptional dining experience, from the venue, to the food, the chef, and the staff. I was somewhat apprehensive considering the prices, but was truly delighted by everything it offered. The food was truly exquisite, a menu which cannot easily be replicated in a home kitchen. This is exactly what fine dining should be about: a treat, something unique and unusual, possibly a once-off culinary encounter, in a relaxed, easy going atmosphere. The portion sizes were perfect, the duration between dishes just right for an enjoyable encounter, complimented by a supurb wine pairing. All round a lovely evening out to celebrate a 30 year wedding anniversary. Thank you to everyone there who made this a memorable experience.

Each exquisite course gives way to another, more delicious, plate. The taste combinations were unique, bold fresh flavors from the fish and meat, with subtler supports from tiny roe, finely cut green scallion, shaved salted fish. The sweet peaches and cheese course was sensational. Staff were friendly, welcoming and unpretentious. I felt very comfortable and at peace to enjoy the flavours.

A great restaurant. I highly recommend. Serves a four course tasting menu of high quality food. For a London tourist, the quality and experience for the price was excellent. Not to be missed. I went with the wine pairing option and the total price was R1300, approx £60. If I went again I would probably go with my own wine choices. They were all good, but inevitably, preferred some more than others. The head chef came round and talked about each of the dishes as they were served, which was a nice and unexpected touch.

Eike Restaurant by Bertus Basson has an innovative take on South African cuisine. They showcase fresh, seasonal ingredients with a focus on sustainability. Diners will rave about the multi-course tasting menus that take you on a culinary journey through the region's flavors. The beef fat candel is also really cool. Expect expertly prepared dishes bursting with unique flavor combinations that are almost too beautiful to eat, but to tasty not to. Well worth the visit.

Cosy little restaurant with wonderful service. The food was not entirely to my liking, but I could appreciate that it was a difference in taste, not quality. The head chef takes exceptional pride in his work and the dishes were inspired. Recommend for an interesting dining experience.

Fantasmagories!!! Easily the best meal I ever had. From the moment we walked in to the last bite we were impressed. Each dish was unique. And how they manage to generate so much flavour from a sauce is beyond me. My son's, who is studying to become a chef, evening (year in fact) was made when he went for a kitchen and behind the scene look. The professionalism and enthusiastic manner in which his questions were answered is commendable - thanks Chef Astrid Although they didn't have a wine pairing with each dish the MC recommended some wines to compliment the meal as we went along - excellent choices!!! Great experience
